Recipe Order

In this activity, students learn that recipes have steps that must be followed in the correct order. They will practice sequencing, cooking vocabulary, and logical thinking by arranging recipe cards from beginning to end.

Game: Recipe Order

  • The teacher starts with a warm-up following the whiteboard suggested topics.
  • Review the recipe vocabulary together.
  • Give each group a set of recipe step cards.
  • Students read or look at the cards and arrange them in the correct order.
  • When finished, students read the recipe aloud as a group.
  • Review the correct order together.
  • Repeat with a different recipe if time allows.
