DIY Coin Bank
In this activity, students will create their own coin bank using a paper cup. They will decorate their coin banks while learning the importance of saving money and taking care of their belongings.
Craft: DIY Coin Bank
- The teacher starts with a warm-up following the whiteboard suggested topics.
- Review the vocabulary related to money and saving.
- Give each student a paper cup and decorating materials.
- Students decorate their coin bank using markers, stickers, or colored paper.
- The teacher helps students cut a small slot in the top of the cup for coins.
- Students write their names on their finished coin banks.
- Students share their designs with the class and explain how they will use their coin bank.
- After taking photos, students can take their coin banks home.

Today we made our own coin banks and learned why saving money is important. Students practiced creativity, fine motor skills, and English speaking while creating something useful to take home. This activity also prepares students for next week’s Money & Budgeting lessons.
