SOLID, LIQUID, OR GAS

In this activity, students learn about solids, liquids, and gases by sorting pictures and objects into categories. They will observe how things look and move while practicing simple English vocabulary. This activity helps students understand basic states of matter in a fun and active way.

Sorting Game: Solid, Liquid, or Gas

  • The teacher starts with a warm-up following the whiteboard suggested topics.
  • Place three labels on the floor: SOLID, LIQUID, and GAS.
  • Review State of Matter item cards together.
  • Show one card at a time.
  • Students move to the correct category or place the card under the State of Matter label.
  • Students say “It is a solid/liquid/gas.”
  • Review all answers together.
